Where Did The Time Go?

I’m feeling so melancholy today. The holidays tend to do that to me. It’s got me reminiscing with old high school friends again and thinking about my teenage days. I wish we all hadn’t moved so far away from each other. I remember my mom telling me, back then, that those were the best years in life and that I had better enjoy them while they lasted. I think most parents tell their kids that don’t they? Of course, my teenage self had no idea what she meant back then. What do teenagers know really?lol I was too busy thinking that she obviously doesn’t know what she’s talking about. I definitely know what she meant now that I’m older though and hopefully a little wiser. All too soon real life creeps in and, the next thing you know, twenty years have gone by like a flash. You wake up one day and go what happened? I’m not really 37 already am I? Where did all these bills come from?lol Was this what I wanted for myself? I thought I was going to be a singer in a rock band, like Ann Wilson in Heart.lol Okay, now that last one probably wouldn’t have worked out but, it’s just one of those crazy things that you think you can do when you’re a kid. You think you have all the time in the world to do anything. Life goes by so darn fast doesn’t it?

It does go by fast. That's for sure. Nancy was a great singer too. It's a shame she didn't sing more on their records. Yikes! Cds....it's a shame she didn't sing more on the cds.lol I have to quit saying records.lol

Teenage years are crazy with all those emotional highs and lows. No wonder we rolled our eyes at our parents. But here's to all those "dead" friendships we wish we had been able to keep.

I am four. Years. I miss being three.

I hope you do not feel melancholy tomorrow. I like the Thanksgiving picture in your sidebar! I am going to wear a Thanksgiving hat next week. But it is not as good as that one.

Tell me about it. I'm trying to figure out just where the past 30 years of my life went. One minute I was a kid and the next I'm a grown adult! LOL!
